Tranquil City Launch in Glasgow for Inter-noise 2022

Tranquil City partnered with the Inter-noise 2022 Sustainability Working Group to launch the Tranquil City for the city, helping people to find calm and encouraging walking and cycling to the conference venue to benefit health, wellbeing and reduce harmful emissions.

The launch included:

  • Launch of an interactive Tranquil City Index map for the Glasgow city region (beta version).
  • A series of specially created themed sound walks to/from the SEC hosted on the Go Jauntly app.
  • A sustainable travel survey to measure the environmental impact and wellbeing benefits of walking more positive sounding routes.
  • An alternative walking route to the conference dinner on Tuesday 23rd August.

We had a great time at the event and we’ll be sharing our findings soon. The tranquil walk to the conference dinner was our biggest Tranquil Walk yet, with over 70 people!

We’ll be announcing more on this project with findings from the travel survey and updated data for the city on our API. Watch this space!

Thank you to the Inter-Noise 2022 Sustainability Working Group, Ashley Leiper, Ben Piper and Nicolas Palominos for their contributions towards the project.
